Vegetarian lobster rolls with halloumi and seaweed caviar

Enjoy this vegetarian variety of Lobster Rolls. Seaweed caviar adds a "sea taste" in this lobster roll based on halloumi. Mayonnaise flavoured with horseradish gives the rolls that extra kick.


Serves 4

  • 2 packs halloumi
  • 1 dl mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp grated horseradish
  • 4 Pågen’s hot dog rolls
  • 50 g lettuce
  • 4 tablespoons seaweed caviar
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives
  • Butter for frying



  1. Cut the halloumi into cubes.
  2. Mix the mayonnaise with horseradish. Add extra horseradish for a stronger taste if you prefer.
  3. Heat a frying pan with butter and fry the hot dog rolls on the outside on both sides. If you want it less greasy - heat the hot dog rolls in the oven for about 5 min at 200 degrees
  4. Fry the halloumi in butter until golden.
  5. Open the hot dog rolls gently. Add the lettuce and a dash of mayonnaise. Top off with halloumi, small spoons of seaweed caviar and chives.
