New Year dessert deluxe

Gifflar + ice cream + caramel apple – so simple but so wow!


Ingredients

You will need (for 4 servings)
  • 6 apples
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 pinches cardamom seeds
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 l vanilla ice cream
  • 1 packet Gifflar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 sparklers
  • lemon balm
  • toasted almond flakes

Method

Proceed as follows:
  1. Peel, divide, core, and cut the apples into wedges.
  2. Grate the zest and juice the lemons.
  3. Grind the cardamom seeds.
  4. Stir together 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of sugar in a frying pan. Melt into a light caramel and add the apples and cardamom. Gently fold until the apples are completely covered in caramel and start to soften. Mix in the lemon juice and zest. Set aside.
  5. Divide and fry the Gifflar in the rest of the butter, roll in 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Place the apple mixture in the bottom of a glass or bowl, top with scoops of vanilla ice cream and the Gifflar.
  7. Finally, decorate with lemon balm, almond shavings, and sparklers.
